A cool organizational idea

I was surfing on this web early this morning since my cold was keeping me from sleeping like a normal person.  Anyway, I found a really good idea for ribbon storage.  Right now I use 2 different methods for storing my ribbon.  One are the retired ribbon storage containers from Stampin’ Up.  I actually store my retired ribbons in those containers.  I like them, but they are no longer for sale so I can’t get anymore for my growing ribbon fetish.

Then I found some holders at the craft store and I’m using 2 of them.  I still have a little space to grow my stash with these.  I like these, but they don’t always hold my ribbon neatly and they won’t hold my larger rolls of the 2010-2012 In Color ribbons.  Plus I have to tape the ends down on each spool when not in use or they will sort of unroll themselves when I pull pieces off others.

This morning I found a ribbon holder on a random blog called Spunky Junky (I have no idea how I even found this because I was looking for coupons.  lol)  Anyway, she created a great (and inexpensive) ribbon holder that I may try to copy.

For this project you will need:

*slotted plastic bin (from storage/organization section of retailers like Wal-mart or Target).

*1/4 inch dowel rod (from a hardware or craft store).

I think it’s a smart idea and it holds a ton of ribbon in an accessible way.  Maybe I should always get up at 3AM to find fun new things on the internet.  hehe  Smile with tongue out

***Note:  There are 2 spots left for my Stamp-a-Stack later this month.  Registration closes on March 19th.  You won’t want to miss this one because it will be the last Stamp-a-Stack I’ll be doing until the Fall!***

  1. What a great idea! Right now I have all my ribbon thrown in a box so it's a mess. Thanks for posting this. I'm off to the store to get the stuff for it! See you at Stamp-a-Stack!
