The Sky’s the Limit!

Tuesday, March 20th, is a special day.  It’s the first day of Spring and it’s my mother’s birthday.  This year’s birthday is especially important because it’s time for her to officially retire!  After spending 40 years as a nurse caring for others, she’s ready to now spend some time caring for herself.  I’m so excited for her as she enters this new chapter of her life.  The sky really is the limit!  I can’t wait to see all the wonderful things she does in the future.  Happy Birthday Mom!

I made her retirement card using the Up, Up, & Away stamp set.  I knew I wanted my sky to be blue.  (I’m SO creative.  lol)  I just wasn’t sure what other colors to use.  I pulled out my Color Coach (I really couldn’t craft without it) and found out that I could combine Bashful Blue, with Rose Red, Wild Wasabi, and Marina Mist.  Then I used Basic Grey & Whisper White as my neutrals.  I used my cupcake punch to make the clouds and then cut out the hot air balloons.  I only added a little baker’s twine for embellishment and used a couple of dimensionals.  I’m happy to say that I can mail this card without paying extra postage!

Happy Stampin!
