Mosaic Madness

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE it when a stamp set coordinates with a punch.  While I like the framelits too, punches are always my first choice for quick crafting.  This card took a little more time because there are 17 punched items, but I love how it turned out.  I also like the softness of the new in-colors on the card.

Virtual Hostess Club Coming Soon!

hostess club

Do you love Stampin’ Up! products? Did you know that Stampin’ Up! Hostesses receive FREE stamps/merchandise for a qualifying order ($150 sales total)?  Would you like to build your stampin’ supplies a little at a time?  Would you like to earn hostess rewards without hosting a workshop?  Do you wish you lived closer to me so you could participate in my local Hostess Club?  Do you already order every month but you never get to the qualifying amount to earn the benefits?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then my Virtual Hostess Club could be just what you need. Here’s how the Virtual Hostess Club works:

  • 6 people are needed to form a club – I will find all the people, you don’t need to. However, if you know someone who might be interested, let them know about the club too.
  • The club will last for 6 months.
  • Each member agrees to place a minimum order of $25.00 a month.  This will give us the minimum qualifying order needed every month.  If you know that you will want to spend at least $50.00 a month (and have your shipping rebated) then you can take two places and get twice the Hostess Benefits.
  • Hostess Benefits will be a $25 credit to spend on any items in the catalog and seasonal catalogs.  Also you may select the special hostess sets that only hostesses may purchase.  If you chose to do so, during the month when you are the hostess you may choose to spend more than your minimum in order to increase the benefit amount earned.  You are not required, however, to spend more than $25/month.
  • Each month a DIFFERENT member in the club gets to be the hostess and collects the free benefits.  If you take two places then you will be the Hostess twice during the six months.  I will do a random drawing to determine who will be the hostess each month.
By the end of the 6 months all the members in the club will have had their turn to be the Hostess.
On top of the existing Hostess Benefits you’ll enjoy, I will also offer you:
  • FREE 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up catalog
  • FREE Shipping Rebate if you spend more than $50 on your order
  • FREE tutorial via email for projects each month

Assuming I have all 6 spots filled, this club will begin in August 2013 and will last until January 2014.  By joining you are making a commitment to purchase each month during the 6 month period.  The other members of the group will be depending on you!  Once you sign up, I will send you a Hostess Code so that you may enter your order online.  Your order must include the hostess code!  All orders must be received by Friday, August 9th.  The club order will be closed and your order will be shipped directly to you.  We will follow the same procedure each month.  I will email your tutorial for the month after you have placed your order.

Sounds fun, doesn’t it?  If you are interested in joining, please email me at:

I look forward to having you in the club!  Smile

**6/25/13 UPDATE:  This club has ONE spot remaining.  Please let me know if you’d like that last place!  Once this one is filled if I have more interest I will start a 2nd group.  Thanks for being so excited about this new program.**

Bright Birthdays

I have been making convention swaps and have 300 leftover Summer Starfruit circles, so I’ve been trying to find creative ways to use them.  Two friends (Anne & Robin) had birthdays this week, so I made them each a very bright birthday card.  I loved using the new candy dots to dress up the cupcakes.  They aren’t as bulky as brads and I even mailed the cards without extra postage.

Have a bright, sunshiny weekend!

Let’s Kiss!

Let’s Kiss!

Here’s a fun and EASY technique to add some versatility to your stamped projects.  Experiment with different patterns to see what fun things you can create.  The background stamps work really well for this!

Simply Sketched… Again

I think I need to rename this website the “Simply Sketched” site.  It seems that this is the only new stamp set I’m managing to use.  I just love it and I can’t get enough of it.  I thought the bird image looked a bit Asian, so I created this card to pick up on that theme.  The bellyband slips off to open the card.  I found that whenever I was trying to color my birdie that she was looking more pink than red, so I just stamped her on red cardstock and cut her out.  Now I have a red bird!

I still have more to share with this set.  I promise I’ll eventually ink up something else to share.  hehe

The Open Sea

I loved this stamp set when it came out 2 years ago and I used it all the time.  Honestly, though, I don’t think I’ve touched it in 12 months.  I decided it would make a good Father’s Day card, so I dusted it off.  I also used some of the new chevron ribbon to add a little texture to the card.

And speaking of ribbons, all the shares are, “in the mail” so to speak.  The designer papers were also shipped.  The only thing I’m still holding are a couple of the embellishment shares because one of the button styles was on backorder.  I had enough on hand to fulfill some of the orders, but not all.  I hope you all enjoy your new goodies!

Family Craft Time

My parents recently came to Oregon to visit.  We had a great time going to see the Spruce Goose, the Pacific Ocean, a cheese factory, and even a carousel museum.  When we managed to spend a little time at home, we did some crafting.  I knew my mother enjoyed stamping because she, too, is a Stampin’ Up demonstrator.  What I didn’t know, however, is that my dad is also really good at crafting.  Who knew?   I think they need to stay longer next time to help me make my convention swaps.  lol

More Simply Sketched

Here’s another pretty card showcasing the new Simply Sketched stamp set.  I think this would make a great Father’s Day card too.

Enjoy the weekend!

Simply Sketched

I LOVE the new hostess stamp set called Simply Sketched!  The images are SO versatile.  I’ve made a couple of cards with it so far and I’ll be sharing those here over the next week or so.

If you love it as much as I do, you can earn it by one of 2 ways:

1.  Host a workshop in your home.  You invite your friends and I bring fun projects for us to make.  You will earn hostess dollars to spend based on the sales at your workshop.  Contact me at to book your workshop date if you’re interested.

2.  Have a long wish list?  Then this is the answer for you!  When you place your own order of $150 or more, you earn hostess credits.  Not only could you buy the Simply Sketched, but you’d have more hostess $$$ to spend on something else.  When you order through my website, you’ll automatically be prompted to add your hostess items when you reach the $150 mark.  On top of that, you’ll get a shipping rebate in the mail from me!

Bright & Cheerful

Are you enjoying the new catalog?  One of my favorite new designer series paper packs is Gingham Garden.  It’s so bright and cheerful & just perfect for summer.  And I love the versatility of the Wildflower Meadow stamp.  It’s great for a background or even for a smaller element on a card, as shown below.

A New Magnetic Platform!

Since discovering framelits, I’ve struggled to keep them in place when cutting.  I was determined to find a solution other than tape.  Last year I purchased the “Genius” platform from Lifestyle Crafts and I was very disappointed that it didn’t work as expected.  Now Sizzix has provided a new platform to Stampin’ Up.  I felt like the Genius problem was that it wasn’t a full magnetic sheet, but rather a bunch of smaller magnets spaced across the back of the platform which caused my framelits to “jump” into places I didn’t want them to go.  When I watched this video of the new Sizzix product it appears the framelits stay where they are placed, which makes me think it’s a solid magnetic sheet.  I haven’t seen this product in person yet, but I’m pretty excited about it and thought I’d share.  Have a happy Stampin’ weekend!

**I just wanted to add an update to this.  I read on a demonstrator board that this platform has 18 magnets.  I was SO hoping it wasn’t made like the Lifestyle Crafts model, but it may be.  Sad smile  I’m not going to purchase it until I see it in person and confirm it works as it should. **
