Virtual Hostess Club…. Coming Soon!

hostess club

I have opened sign-ups for the Fall/Winter Club which begins in September and lasts for 6 months.  Why should you sign up?

1.  You get hostess benefits for doing nothing!  As a regular hostess, you have to clean your house, cook snacks, and invite your friends over to a sales party.  With this virtual group, you don’t have to do any of that!  You just place your orders and get rewards during the month you’re the hostess!

2.  You get a monthly step-by-step tutorial in your email.  If you like new ideas with detailed instructions and photographs, this is for you!  You can work at your own pace and have beautiful, finished projects.  (See the photos below for samples of past projects.)

3.  You buy things from me regularly anyway.  If you’re already a current customer and place regular orders, the only difference is that by participating you’ll get hostess rewards when you’re the hostess.

4.  It doesn’t matter where you live.  You can live near me or 3,000 miles away.  Everyone gets the same benefits regardless of residency.  (*Note:  Only people who live within the United States can participate because I cannot sell outside of the US.)

5.  Have you seen the cute Hostess Only stamp sets in the catalog?  The only way to get the sets is to host a party, buy $150 worth of supplies yourself in a single order, or participate in the club.

The Details:

1.  The club lasts 6 months.  This time it will begin in September and end in February.

2.  You agree to order $25/month for the duration of the club, with the last order being made in February.

3.  You can sign up for more than one month if you’d like a shipping rebate each month.  I rebate shipping charges on orders over $50.  Being a hostess 2 times during the club will ensure you continue to get your rebates.

4.  Requests for the hostess month will be on a first come, first served basis.  Right now I have 3 spots available during the 6 months.  No matter what, when you participate you’ll be the hostess one of the six months.

5.  Email me at to reserve your space.

July Paper Pumpkin Projects

I already showed you the treat boxes I made for the hotel staff.  I also used the kit to make some cards.  The kit came with supplies to make 6 boxes, 6 tags, and 6 greeting cards.  I cut some of the cards in 1/2 so I could make more.
I love the new Paper Pumpkin monthly kits.  Now that they contain so many things, they are such a good value.  I made all the cards, tags, and boxes from the supplies that were included.  Only this last card contained cardstock that was not included.  I just wanted to try it out with the blue and I liked it.
Have a great weekend!

Best Convention Ever!

Last year I was pretty disappointed in the annual Stampin’ Up Convention.  So much so that I said I wasn’t going this year.  But then I forgot and got excited and signed up to go.  My mother, who is also a demonstrator, went too.  We had a great time!  It wasn’t crowded like last year and we had SO many choices of activities during the day.  We could each customize the convention experience to meet our own needs and it worked out to be the best convention I’ve ever attended.  I learned new skills (like how to use Instagram) and saw tons of great card crafting ideas.  My flight was late and I ended up getting home early this morning, so I’m still trying to catch up on my sleep.  I’ll start adding images of cards for you in the next day or two.  (Also, if you ordered while I was away, I’ll be working on your shipping rebates today and tomorrow.)

I wanted to show you the hotel where I stayed.  This is a small, family-run, independent hotel.  It’s old, but it was renovated since it was built.  The d├ęcor looks a little like the early 90s.  The people who work there are so sweet and genuine.  It’s a longer walk to the convention center than the fancy hotels, but I love it.

This was a newspaper article about the hotel when it opened as apartments in 1926.  I chuckled about the last line that talks about it having electric ranges, “assuring perfecting cooking and the pleasure that the housewife gains with electric cooking.”  lol  I’m happy to say that my suite only had a microwave (which I never used!) so I did not experience the pleasure of using the electric range while on vacation.

I purchased the July Paper Pumpkin kit at convention and we used it to make these treat boxes for the hotel employees who made our stay so special.  This was a such a fun kit and it was perfect for crafting in the hotel room.

As I said, I have TONS more images to share, but first I need to unpack and get back to normal life.  I’ll be in touch!

Tap, Tap, Tap

I had a good time playing with the new typewriter themed stamp set called Tap, Tap, Tap.  I love old typewriters so I knew I’d love this set.  In the 1st card I paired it with the #Hello which I thought was a good contrast between the older style typewriter and current day hashtags.  It’s like vintage meets hip.  lol
Till next time… Happy Stampin’!

News of the Week!

I woke up early to a ton of promotions from Stampin' Up!  (Good thing I can't sleep, huh? lol)

How about Christmas in July?  That's right!  There is a stamp set being released today from the Holiday catalog and it's a beauty!  It's called Beauty of the Season.  I can't wait to get it!  There is also a photopolymer set called Christmas Bliss that is more contemporary in nature.

Did you love the Sweetie Pie Photopolymer stamp set?  If so, you're in for another treat today. There is a "boy" themed stamp set called Dear Heart. Sweetie Pie sold out in record time, so if you're interested in Dear Heart, I'd advise you to order it early!
And if all that news wasn't exciting enough, there will be new items added to the clearance rack on July 10th!  I thought I'd give you a heads-up so you could hold your order until Thursday for combined shipping.

Blendabilities Black Magic

Have you ever done the Black Magic technique?  It usually involves stamping the image with white ink and then coloring the white ink with colored pencils.  This one I did a bit differently.  I stamped with the image and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Then I colored the white with my Blendabilities.  I think it turned out pretty.  I did notice that I could see my brush strokes, so I had to be mindful of how I was coloring.  The card below was my first one and I think it didn’t turn out as well because I was doing circular brush strokes which were very noticeable.  I also didn’t get my colors blended as well as I would have liked.  Practice makes perfect (or at least better!) so I was happier with the outcome of the other card.  It was fun to color my pearls and rhinestones with the Blendabilities too!
**The stamp has lots of dots on the background and I didn’t want those to show.  Rather than trying to just ink up the flowers, I decided to “cover” up the dots with my black Copic marker.  It seems like it would be tedious, but it took almost no time and I like how it turned out.  You can see a hint of the white under some, but it just adds some extra interest to the card.IMG_0382
