Best. Trip. Ever.

It’s time for me to pack and get ready to head East for a couple of weeks.  I’m going to Disney World, the Stampin’ Up Leadership Conference, and then to North Florida to visit my parents.  I’ll be back in two weeks and will mail out any shipping rebates when I return.
I leave you with a bunch of fun cards I made with free items from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I love the sentiments in the Best Day Ever Stamp set and combining that with the Best Year Ever ribbon and DSP makes for a quick card.  (And it looks a bit like sunny Florida, don’t you think?)
Be back soon!

SAB Lotus Blossom

Perhaps my favorite new stamp set is the Lotus Blossom in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I would have paid money for this set, so it’s even better than it’s free with purchase.  Here’s a purple card I made using it.  I felt like it needed a little something extra, so I added some silver vellum behind the image.

Happy Stampin!

More Birthday Cards to Share!

So the problem with having a birthday on Sunday is that there is no mail on that day, so several cards arrived on Monday (or Tuesday) instead.  Here are more of the pretty handmade cards I received.

Diane made this clever card with the Petite Petals stamp and punch.  Look how she included the gift card inside!  I’m going to copy that!

Pauline used a floral theme on her card too!  She cut out the flowers and used the greeting from the Flower Patch stamp set.

Kathy made a pretty and shimmery card with lots of gold details.  I loved that she added the butterflies since my name, Vanessa, means butterfly.

Robin created this black and white card.  I thought it was clever to add the birds to the musical note background.

Happy Stampin’!

Happy Birthday to …. Me!

I thought I’d share the homemade cards I’ve received for my special day.  My friends are so talented and crafty!

This pretty card was made by Phyllis with the Wildflower Meadow (129168) background stamp.  I’m glad she used this because I needed ideas so I’ll use my own more often!

Purple is one of my favorite colors and Karen must have remembered that when she created this card for me.

Please ignore my poor photography skills!  Margaret made me this pretty shaker card with the Corner Garden (134048) background stamp.  This reminds me that I need to buy that one!

Last night my husband said he needed to use my craft room and disappeared in there for about an hour.  He made this card for me and he did it without any help from me!  I was so touched and surprised.  He used the Big Day stamp set (139112) from Sale-a-Bration.  He even used some DSP.  I said, “Wow, you even cut out strips of paper for the border.”  He replied, “I just dug through the piles of stuff on your desk and used what I found.”  lol  Good thing I’m not a tidy crafter. Smile with tongue out

Till next time-

A Happy Thing …for A Not-So-Happy Time

It’s been one of those kind of sad weeks.  First, my cousin (who was only 43) died in North Carolina.  Unfortunately I cannot fly that far for tomorrow’s funeral, so the best I can do is remember Christy as she was the last time I saw her.  It’s so sad to lose her.
Then today I found out my friend, Ruth, lost her husband, Charlie, to cancer this morning.  What a sad week.
Anyway, for some reason I pulled out this stamp set for one of the sympathy cards.  Granted, it’s not a traditional type of card, but I think it works.  And somehow the “blue” bird conveys my grief of how I’m feeling about the loss of such wonderful people.
Life is short.  Be sure to hug the ones you love.

A Happy Thing Stamp + Masking

Can't decide which Sale-a-Bration items you want to earn?  What about A Happy Thing (139134) on pg 19 of the SAB brochure?  Here's a video showing how to mask the lemon so you can get a bunch of lemons!

Celebrate Good Times, Come On! It’s Time for Sale-a-Bration!

Sale-a-Bration is customer appreciation time.  It’s a time to earn free stamp sets, Blendabilities alcohol markers, designer paper, ribbon, and/or buttons.  The way it works is that with each $50 purchase (before taxes and shipping,) you can select an item from the Sale-a-Bration catalog for free.  I love free!  Don’t you?  There are no limits on the promotion.  You get one free for EACH $50 spent.  Plus when you order with me, I’ll rebate your shipping costs on orders over $50, so it’s an even better deal!
Sale-a-Bration is also a great time to sign up as a Stampin’ Up demonstrator.  For the $99 enrollment fee you get to select $125 in merchandise of your choice plus you get 2 free items from the Sale-a-Bration catalog!  There’s no commitment after you purchase your kit.  The minimum sales requirement to stay active as a demonstrator is $300/quarter.  If you decide it’s not for you, just don’t meet your minimum and you’ll be deactivated.  There is no penalty and you get to keep the $125 worth of stuff plus your 2 free Sale-a-bration items.  I’d love to have you on my team as a hobby demonstrator (someone who is a demonstrator to support her stamping habit!) or as a demonstrator looking to earn $$$.
The card above features my new favorites:  Hello You Thinlits Dies are in the Occasions catalog and the Lotus Blossom stamp set is in the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I'll include links to both in the Weekly Deals chart shown below.
